Odlewnia Żeliwa Sp z o.o. launched their operation on 1st February 2002, being continuation of 50 – years tradition of production facility. The products are casting made from grey and ductile cast iron for automotive sector, mainly engine blocks, housings, covers, brake discs and brake drums, other castings for engineering and for industrial fixtures sectors.

In organizational aspect, the plant changed within the time of its existence:

• within years 1957-1995 was one of component shop of Car Factory in Lublin,
• within 1995-2001 was important supplier of castings for Daewoo group, export activity was developed significantly at that time,
• since February 2002 the plant has been existing as individual company – Odlewnia Żeliwa Lublin Sp. z o.o.

The foundry passed many changes and modernizations within years of operation:

• in 70-ties received equipment and know-how within large co-operation with FIAT group,
• within 1995-1996 was basically modernized with installation of new core-making machines, sand mixers and construction of resin coated sand facility.

In A.D. 2000 investment program was completed with installation of modern, fully automatic moulding line (Foundry Automation), automatic pouring furnace (ABB), installation of new cupolas equiped with oxygen blowing, introduction of wire spheroidisation methods of ductile cast iron manufacture. All above mentioned actions made the foundry as modern, world standard of product, organization and customer service plant.
